Dorset based company; The Tank Company, specialist manufacturers
of stainless steel and aluminium fuel, oil and water tanks are celebrating
25 successful years in business this October.
Over the last 25 years, the Tank Company, part of the Oval 316
group of companies have produced over 28,000 specialised tanks and
have become one of the leading competitors in their field.
They began in 1980 building marine industry tanks, for specialist
race and powerboats, and have now expanded their operations to all
types of industries, including the specialist vehicle industries.
All their tanks are radius-edged and individually welded by skilled
coded welders using TIG and synergic MIG welding, which gives the
tanks the added strength to make them stand out from other manufacturers.
The majority of the marine fuel tanks that the Tank Company produce
are made from aluminium, although they do make a lot of stainless
steel tanks for fresh water, fuel and waste. The tanks that they
produce range in size from 2 litres for an oil catch tank to 45,000
litres capacity.
Sales Manager, David Green has recently been taken on board to
head up the business and expand their operations in Europe, aiming
to double their current output over the next 5 years.
Recent sales for the Tank Company have included the manufacturer
of tanks for Ice Marine and Fairline, both for new vessels launched
at the Southampton Boat Show. They have also provided 12 stainless
steel tanks for Delta Power, to be put into Interceptor Ribs for
the Dutch Antilles Coastguard. The 425 litre tanks were delivered
to Delta Power after being individually pressure tested and certified.
All the tanks also carry a two-year guarantee.
The Tank Company have been suppliers to Delta for many years now.
They were chosen due to their good reputation and as Wayne Huntley,
Head of Naval Architecture for Delta Power commented, “The
Tank Company always provides a very good, efficient service”
After 25 years of continuous tank production, the Tank Company
have become one of the leading suppliers of small volume specialist
tanks. With a new Sales Manager on board and innovative welding
techniques, new tools and machinery are keeping them at the forefront
of their industry.
